Obituary of Raymond C. Rinaldi

     Attorney Raymond C. Rinaldi, age 86, of Moosic, went on to his peaceful and eternal rest on Wednesday at his home surrounded by his beloved and cherished family He was married to the love of his life, the former Rosemarie Cacciola.  On October 23, 2024, the couple celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.

Born on August 11, 1938, in Old Forge, Raymond was the son of the late William and Mary Scariato Rinaldi. He graduated from Old Forge High School in 1956, where he served as class president. He then pursued higher education at the University of Scranton, graduating in 1960, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland in 1963. Raymond was the founder of the law firm Rinaldi and Poveromo PC. His professional contributions extended to serving on the Board of Directors for the former Old Forge Bank and the First Northern Bank and Trust in Palmerton, PA. As a community leader, he was instrumental as a founding member of the initial Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House of Scranton and Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Additionally, he was a past president of the Lackawanna County Library System.  . Raymond commitment to his faith, family, and community was best reflected in his devotion to his catholic faith as a member of the Divine Mercy Parish in Scranton. 

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Louis DeNaples, Dr. William Dempsey, and Dr. Henry Yeager for their kind and compassionate care. 

Raymond is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; three sons: William F. Rinaldi; Attorney Raymond C. Rinaldi and his wife Maryanna; Attorney Fred P. Rinaldi and his wife Nanette; six grandchildren: Raymond III, Marco, Siena Rose, Rocco, Donato, and Luca; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and three sisters-in-law: Bonnie Cacciola, Barbara Rinaldi, and Madelyn Rinaldi.

He was predeceased by four brothers: Vito, William, Anthony, and Clement; two brothers-in-law: Joseph Cuffaro and Vincent Cacciola; and three sisters-in-law: Mickey Cuffaro, Claire Rinaldi, and Rudolphine Rinaldi.

To honor Raymond, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis Street, Scranton, celebrated by Reverend Paul A. McDonnell. Interment will follow at Old Forge Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
