Obituary of Donald C. Buzzinski

Donald C. Buzzinski, age 65, of Old Forge, passed away Thursday at home, surrounded by his beloved family, following a 15 year health battle with multiple myeloma.  He was married to the former, Lynn Zimak.  The couple celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary on April 6.              

     Born on May 11, 1959, in Scranton, Donald was the son of the late Chester and Eileen Neagle Buzzinski.  He was a graduate of Bishop Hannan High School, and Johnson College. Donald was employed as a carpenter for 45 years.  He worked at JAB Construction, Justus, and was a self-employed carpenter. 

     Donald was a loving husband and father.  His favorite past-times included spending time with his three chihuahuas, bowling, going on cruises, and doing home carpentry projects.

     The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Sacred Heart Hospice, Dunmore, and the Hematology & Oncology Associates of NEPA, Dunmore, for the kind and compassionate care given to Donald.

     In addition to his wife, Lynn, Donald is also survived by his son, Aaron Buzzinski, Hoosick Falls, NY, two brothers, Chester and wife Genia, Old Forge, Gary and wife Teal, Scranton, a sister, Jean Buzzinski, Taylor, nieces, and nephews.

     In addition to his late parents, Donald was also preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Giannetti.

     To honor Donald, a Blessing Service will be held on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge.

     Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Donald at the funeral home on Sunday 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
