Obituary of David J. Greer
David J. Greer, 54, of Old Forge, died Tuesday at home. He was married to the former Nancy Domiano. The couple celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on Sept. 21.
Born in Paterson, N.J., son of Doris Smith Greer and the late Charles Greer, he was a graduate of Old Forge High School and the Northeastern Technical Institute, Fleetville. He was the owner and operator of Dave Greer Trucking, Old Forge, and also taught truck driving and diesel mechanics.
Dave's passion was riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. He was a great friend who was always willing to lend a helpful hand to others. Dave died surrounded by the people who loved him. He will be sadly missed.
The family wishes to express its thanks to Dr. Susan Baroody, Dr. Robert Paulino, staff 8 East of Regional Hospital, especially Johnson and Nate, for their compassionate care and friendship.
Also surviving are a son, David and fiancée, Ashley Gilbert, Old Forge; a daughter, Amanda Arthur and husband, William, Mayfield; three grandchildren, Natalie Greer, Mason and Jessica Arthur; a brother, Charles Greer and wife, Sandra, Wilmington, Del.; nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.
