Obituary of Eugene M. Monahan

Eugene M. Monahan, 63, of Taylor, died Friday at home. He was married to the former Mary Ann Francis, who died in 2013.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frank and Theresa Connors Monahan. He was a graduate of West Scranton High School's class of 1971. He was an Armyveteran, and was a member of the American Legion Post 306, Taylor. He was employed at Golden Technology, Old Forge. He was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish, Scranton.

Surviving are a son, Jason Monahan, Avoca; two daughters, Rebecca Monahan, Taylor; Tammy Chludzinski and husband, Kurt, Old Forge; three grandchildren, Kayla and Zack Chludzinski and Avery Greaves; a great-grandchild, Aria Chludzinski; four brothers, John and wife, Mary Jo, Scranton; Michael and wife, Donna, Dunmore; Robert and wife, Doris, Allentown; Chester and wife, DeDe, Scranton; two sisters, Patricia Gelfand, Florida; Mary Good, Scranton; nieces and nephews.

Eugene was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Joseph; and a sister, Eileen Baker.

The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at the Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Scranton. 

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.
