Obituary of Laura L. Baron
Laura L. “Honey” Baron, 84, Old Forge, died Sunday at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. She was married to Vincent Baron. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on August 17.
Born in Falls, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Pellie Golienewski Kowalski. Laura was a graduate of West Pittston High School. Prior to retirement, she was a transcriptionist at the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of the Prince of Peace, Old Forge.
Laura was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Laura’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Gino Merli Veterans’ Center for their compassionate care given to Laura and a special thanks to Phillip Robchewski for his support during this difficult time.
Also surviving are a son, Vincent F., Old Forge, four daughters; Margaret Baron, Dublin, Ohio, Maria Baron and husband Joseph Coughlin, Dunmore, Amy Cardinal and husband Aaron, Lawrenceville, GA, Jennifer Baron and husband Andrew Sleboda, Pittston, ten grandchildren; Jason Baron, Kate and Melissa Casella, Christopher Bomberger, Cole and Ruby Cadinal, Lucas Keaton, and Ryan Sleboda, Callahan Coughlin, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral mass will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Parish – St. Lawrence O’Toole’s Church, 620 South Main Street, Old Forge.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the church on Thursday 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge.
