Obituary of Christine R. Tagliaterra

     Christine R. Tagliaterra, 79, of Old Forge, passed away Sunday at Allied Hospice Center.  She was the widow of the late Santo “Boxer” Tagliaterra, who died in 2011. 

      Born on March 4, 1942, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Helen Slaski DeAngelis.  She was a 1959 graduate of Old Forge High School.  Prior to retirement, she was employed at the former Cherry’s Bookstore, Old Forge, and worked as an election inspector. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.

     The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Wesley Village and Allied Hospice Center for the compassionate care given to Christine.

     Christine is survived by two sons, Paul and his wife, Annette, Archbald, Mark and his wife, Sandy, Old Forge, three grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Breanna, two great-grandchildren, Josh, and Rylan, nieces, and nephews.

     She was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Ducceschi.

     Christine’s funeral will be Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass of Christian burial at the Prince of Peace Parish – St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 123 West Grace Street, Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August Ricciardi, Pastor.  Interment will immediately follow at the Old Forge Cemetery.

     Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Christine at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

     Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, those attending the viewing or funeral mass are kindly requested to wear a protective facial mask and practice social distancing guidelines.
