Obituary of Marie P. Ventre

Marie Patricia Ventre, 72, of Duryea, passed into eternal peace Thursday evening at home surrounded by her loving family. Marie was the widow of the late Louis Ventre who passed in 1999.

     Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Sarah DeVergelius Capwell.  She was a graduate of the Pittston Area High School Class of 1961.  She enjoyed lifelong friendships that she made in school. Marie was employed at St. Joseph’s Center in Dunmore where she worked the switch board for many years. Prior to that she worked in factories and worked to support her family. She was a devoted, loving grandmother and a wonderful mother.

     Surviving are daughter, Patricia Curtis and husband David, Duryea, three grandchildren; Louis, Michel, Michael, brother, Harold Capwell, MA, sister, Judy Lavelle, CT, several nieces, and nephews.

     A funeral service will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Interment Old Forge Cemetery.
