Obituary of Jacqueline L. Uhrin

Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Uhrin, 81, of Old Forge, died Tuesday evening at home.  She was married to Gerald Uhrin. The couple celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past October.

Born on September 6, 1941, in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Dominick “Popeye” and Shirley Davis Aulisio.  She was a graduate of Old Forge High School’s Class of 1959.  Jackie was devoted to her family, grandchildren, and her hometown of Old Forge.

In addition to her husband, Gerald, Jackie is also survived by four sons; Jerry and wife Connie, Dominick and wife Tammy, Mark and wife Allison, all of Old Forge, Michael and wife Christine, Avoca, two daughters, Shirley Vender and husband Louis, Jacqueline Evans, all of Old Forge, grandchildren; Kristen, Brad (Taryn), Corey and Zachary, Dominick (Marina), Gabrielle (Mario), Klaus (Julie), Jackson, Breah, Kayla (Jared), Shana (Brandon),  and a great- granddaughter, Maisyn, who was the “Light of Jackie’s Life”.  She is also survived by her nephews, Joseph (Catherine), Jamie (Kelly) and Jeffery (Susie) Aulisio and their children.  In addition, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special cousin Barbara Aulisio.

Jackie was loved and cherished by everyone, and her family meant absolutely everything to her. She never missed an event that her children and grandchildren participated in. You could find Jackie at every Blue Devil sporting event; she was a true-Blue Devil Fan. Jackie loved to cook and bake for everyone, and she was excellent at both.  She had a heart of “blue & gold” and she loved unconditionally. She truly was an amazing person.  Her family will cherish the lasting memories of summer picnics, holiday meals and that beautiful smile.  We lost our matriarch, but we are all so much better off and lucky to have had her in our lives, she sits in the arms of angels for she was our “Angel”. We love you Mom, rest now you deserve to be at peace for you were truly a gift from God.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Aulisio and her son-in-law John Evans.
