Obituary of John W. Karsko

     John W. Karsko, 86, of Moosic, died Tuesday at the Elan Skilled Nursing Center.

     Born on May 18, 1937, in Moosic, he was the son of the late George and Josephine Swantek Karsko.  John graduated from the former Moosic High School and was a United States Army Veteran.  Prior to his retirement, he was a United States postal worker.  He was a devoted member of the Saint Nicholas Byzantine Church, Old Forge.

     After retirement, John’s favorite past-times were traveling and gardening.

     John’s family wishes to express their gratitude to Oakwood Terrace, Moosic, the Elan Skilled Nursing Center, Scranton, and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, for the compassionate care given to John.

     John is survived by two sisters, Irene Pierce, Barbara Shinert, nieces, and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Karsko, Jr. and James Karsko

     The funeral service will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge. Parastas will be held at 10 a.m. in the funeral home by the Rev. Eduard Shestak, Pastor of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.  Interment Saint Peter & Paul Cemetery, Moosic. 

     Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to John at the funeral home on Saturday morning 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.
