Obituary of Thomas E. Martindale

     Thomas E. Martindale, 66, of Edwardsville, passed away peacefully on March 20th, surrounded by his loving family.

     Son of the late Janet Martindale, Thomas was a former machinist that worked at several area tool and die facilities. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the 2nd Calvery Regiment in Nuremberg, Germany, where he worked on helicopters and patrolled the Berlin Wall. 

     Thomas was a lifelong Eagles Football and Phillies Baseball fan.  During his lifetime, he was fortunate to see the Philles win two World Series Championships and the Eagles win the Superbowl.  When not spending time with his children and grandchildren, Tom could be found fishing at his favorite spot on the “Susq”.

     He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Sitler and husband Anthony, a son, Thomas Martindale and companion Christine Horn, four grandchildren; Destiny, Anthony, Noah, Elliott, a sister, Nancy Kresefsky and husband JK, nieces, nephews, cousins, his former wife, Geraldine Young, and best friend, Mike Duchesne.

     Thomas’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Compasses Hospice and the Veterans’ Administration Hospital for their compassion and care during this difficult time.

     At the request of Thomas, no public services were held.
