Obituary of Madeline Lamberti
Madeline Lamberti, 100, of Old Forge, died Monday at the Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dominic Coccia, who died in 1976, and her second husband, Anthony Cherundolo, who died in 1998.
Born on June 28, 1923, in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Caroline Semenza Lamberti. Madeline was a graduate of Old Forge High School’s Class of 1940. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress in the former local garment industry. Madeline was a member of the Old Forge Leisure Club, the Old Forge Retired Senior Citizens’ Club, the Moosic Senior Citizens’ Club, and The Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.
Madeline was the beloved matriarch of her family.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Nunzi, Philip, Ernest, Knovel Lamberti, two sisters, Anna Truncale, Dumira Lamberti, and her beloved niece, Betty Dolce.
Madeline’s funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Prince of Peace Parrish, 123 West Grace Street, Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. August
Ricciardi, Pastor. Interment Old Forge Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Madeline at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
