Obituary of Louis Mucciolo

Louis "Sour" Mucciolo, 83, of Old Forge, passed away Monday morning peacefully at home.

 

          Born in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Lucia Passarella Mucciolo.  He was a 1951 graduate of Old Forge High School where he excelled in athletics.

 

          "Sour" was a man of simple pleasures who enjoyed sports, gambling, and being catered to.  His days consisted of breakfast at Marie's Diner followed by an afternoon of card playing at "the joint".  In the evening he could be found on his corner bar stool at Salerno's Bar.

 

         He was a lovable and generous man who was very proud of his children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments.

 

     Surviving are his three children, Lou and companion Janet (Steele), Venice and husband Bill Reviello, and Mike and wife Sarah (Shrive) with whom he resided and were his primary caregivers, four grandchildren, Angela and Maria Reviello, Nina and Michael Mucciolo, three brothers, Carmine "Tony" and wife Claudia, Joe "Iggy" and wife Theresa, John "Babe", his former wife Virginia (Diaz), nieces, and nephews.

 

      He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James "Gino" and his wife Theresa, and a sister in-law Eleanor.

 

     His family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Sebastianelli and Dr. Martin Hyzinski and their staff for their outstanding care and compassion.

 

     Mass will be celebrated Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street, Old Forge.  Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the church from 8:30 a.m. until time of the mass.

 

     Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge.
