Obituary of Cecelia W. Gorgol

     Cecelia W. Gorgol, 101, of Scranton, died Thursday at Allied Services Skilled Nursing.  She was the widow of the late Joseph Gorgol.  The couple were married for 67 years.

     Born on August 5, 1923, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Stanczyk Janowski.  Cecelia was a graduate of Scranton Central High School.  Prior to retirement, she was a secretary for Consolidated Molding Company.  She was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Saint Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church, Scranton. 

     Cecelia is survived by a son, Richard and wife Patricia, Scranton, grandchildren; Steven and wife Gloria Gorgol, Garden Grove, California, Evonne Bell, Scranton, Joseph Gorgol, Scranton, a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Gorgol, Garden Grove, California, a brother, Joseph Janowski and wife Eleanor, Allentown, nieces, and nephews.

     Cecelia was preceded in death by a son, Robert Gorgol, and a sister, Wanda Chabal and husband Michael Chabal.

     The family wishes to thank the staff of Allied Services 3 North Skilled Nursing and Allied Services Hospice for the compassionate care given to Cecelia.

     To honor Cecelia, her funeral will be Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Saint Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church, 529 East Locust Street, Scranton. Interment St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Stanislaus National Catholic Polish Church.

     Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Cecelia on Friday morning from 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
