Obituary of Lynne G. Mineo
Lynne G. Mineo, 76, of Old Forge, died Sunday at Regional Hospital. She was married to Richard Mineo.
Born May 15, 1948, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Flora Fox Godshall. She was a graduate of Springfield High School.
In addition to her husband, Richard, Lynne is survived by a son, Morgan G. Betz, Breckenridge, CO, a brother, William Godshall and wife Lynnette, Kearney, MO, a sister, Lisa Morgan and husband David, Souderton, PA and nieces, and nephews.
Lynne was a vibrant, kind, and generous person both with her time and talents. She loved quilting and creating beautiful heirlooms for wedding gifts and new babies. Cooking and gardening were among her many passions; her home was full of flowers and the smell of freshly baked bread. The backyard garden flourished under her care, and no birds ever went hungry when they came to visit the yard.
Lynne’s early life was defined by her love for the Florida Keys, the bright sunshine and the ocean; She collected flamingo memorabilia throughout her life as a tribute to this.
She raised her son to love the same things she did and taught him to be a kind and generous man. He was one of her greatest accomplishments and joys.
After moving to Old Forge Lynne quickly became part of the fabric of her new home. Lynne and Rich shared an enthusiasm for golf and spent much of their time with friends and family at Glenmaura Country Club, where Lynne was involved in many charitable events. Lynne’s involvement in the Felittese Association’s annual festival was a favorite way to stay connected to family and friends. As a couple they enjoyed escaping the winters in Flordia and Hilton Head.
To honor Lynne, a memorial service will be held at the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge. To leave an online condolence, please visit the funeral home’s web site at: ciucciofuneralhome.com
