Obituary of Ann M. Giglio
Ann M. Giglio, 89, of Old Forge, died Thursday at the Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor, where she was a resident. She was the widow of Julio (Shawn) Giglio, who died on March 21, 1997.
Born Aug. 12, 1925, in Old Forge, daughter of the late John and Rose Scioscia Cusumano, she was a 1943 graduate of Old Forge High School. Before retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry. She was a devout Catholic and member of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who tirelessly and selflessly dedicated her entire life to her family's comfort and care. She was an expert seamstress and a lover of opera. Some of her fondest moments came from attending the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt to a large extended family. Her outstanding memory made her the official "historian" of the family, and she was an excellent storyteller, who delighted family and friends with stories of the past.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the kind and compassionate care given to their mother.
Surviving are a son, attorney Richard and wife, Maureen Mahoney, Boynton Beach, Fla., and New York City; three daughters, Joanne Mallick and husband, Michael, Laurel, Md.; Maureen AuBuchon and husband, Dr. Peter, Narberth; and Julianne Guida and husband, Dominic, Old Forge; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Mallick and Amelia and Maria AuBuchon; many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vito and Kenneth Cusumano; and six sisters, Carmella Licciardone, Mary Laurenzi, Agatha Galassi, Fannie Dalessandro, Angeline Giglio and Eva Cusumano.
