Obituary of Betty A. Riviello

Betty A. Riviello, 79, of Old Forge, died Saturday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Theodore Riviello, who died in 2004.

Born in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Benedetto and Julia Marinelli Picchi. She was a graduate of Old Forge High School, class of 1951. Before retirement, she was employed at Arcaro & Genell's Restaurant, Old Forge. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. John Lundin, Dr. John Diakiw and the intensive care and hospice units at Regional Hospital.

Surviving are a daughter, Ann Marie Malecki and husband, Butch, Old Forge; a son, Ted and wife, Susan, Pittston Twp.; three grandchildren, Carla Sams, Michelle Mullarkey and David Riviello; two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Sophia Sams; two sisters, Jean Cammarota, Old Forge, and Marge Evans, Endwell, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlo and David Picchi, and a sister, Maria Picchi.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, followed by a Mass at 10 in tPrince of Peace Parish, St. Mary's Church, West Grace Street, Old Forge. Interment, Old Forge Cemetery.
