Jan was the type of person who respected everyone she met and made each person feel appreciated. Her generosity led her to reach out to her family, friends and anyone else she knew who needed help. And she did it in a very quiet way. Jan loved her vocation being a nurse and making a difference in so many people's lives. She continued to share her many talents and skills after retirement by volunteering for her church, the IHM Congregation Archives (her favorite) and for St. Joseph's Center. Jan's spirituality was truly one of her strong points and she brought all of us closer to God. Jan has made this world a better place to live by her presence and her love. She will be greatly missed. Mary Ann Lang, IHM

Jan was a beautiful, loving, generous, and faith-filled friend. She is resting in the arms of her God. May her family and friends be comforted knowing Jan has loved them in this life with her whole heart. Jan is now our advocate in heaven. Rest in peace, friend. Love, Fran

Janet was a special person who was giving, compassionate & considerate. We've known each other since kindergarten & went to nursing school together. Despite my living Florida, she kept in touch. She sent me inspirational books on poetry & prose was a huge supporter of my books & writing. I'll miss her & will look for a bright star in the night sky as I'm sure it will be her. Condolences to the family. Love you my friend Jan.

I guess I can say we were friends from birth because we shared the hospital nursery, born a day apart. We had our little joke about it and spent many birthdays together. Rest In Peace my friend.

Jan's family, I had the great honor of working with Jan at St. Joseph's in Carbondale, she was the best, kind, intelligent ,and one hick of a good nurse, and a great teacher As well as a good friend. when my dad died and i came back to work and was having a hard time, she came to me and took me in a room and we sat and talked and cried together. I know i haven't seen her in a while, but she will always be a special person to me and i know she will be an angel looking down on us and watching over us all. To all of you her family, my deepest sympathy with love always .Her friend Mary (God Bless you Jan)
