Obituary of Robert S. Baron

Robert S. “Bobby” Baron, 58, of Old Forge, was tragically taken from us January 26, 2017. He was married to Maria Baron. The couple would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Nov. 10, 2024.

Born January 3, 1959 he was the son of the late Alfred and Helen Rose Baron. Robert was a 1976 graduate of Old Forge High School and earned a degree in Business Management from Penn State University. He was co-owner of R&B Insurance for several years prior to becoming co-owner of Ghigiarelli’s Restaurant, Old Forge until his passing. Robert was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.

Robert was a devoted father, husband, son, and businessman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Penn State football, and being in the sunshine. He also loved coming home to his two dogs every day or as he would refer to them as “the men.” His witty humor and infectious laugh will never be forgotten.

In addition to wife, Maria, Robert is survived by son, Robert, Philadelphia, daughters, Nicole, Brooklyn, NY, and Brittany, Old Forge, a grandson, Gael, brothers, Al and Mark and partner Lisa Fultz, niece Alicia, and great nephew Luke.

The family would like to give a very special thanks to Corporal Greg Allen for bringing Robert home after a long six years. In addition to Corporal Allen, the family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to Jeff Miller.

To honor Robert, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 27, at 12:00 p.m. from the Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street, Old Forge. Interment at the Old Forge Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the church, prior to Mass, from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m.
